Apply or Nominate a Colleague for ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators®
The ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators® plays a leadership role in advancing the science and practice of education across all surgical specialties, promoting the highest achievements in the lifetimes of surgeons—and applications or nominations are now being accepted for induction into the 2025 class.
The preeminent members of the Academy are engaged in a variety of different activities and have made enormous contributions to surgical education. The Academy regularly hosts a series of Grand Rounds webinars to discuss important surgical education and training topics and organizes interactive virtual Fireside Chats with surgical education experts. The Academy also organizes Annual Symposia on key topics of interest to the Academy’s membership. In addition, the Academy presents sessions at the Clinical Congress and develops publications and resources to advance the field of surgical education and support the work of surgical educators.
You are invited to apply yourself or nominate a colleague for membership.
Applications for 2025 Membership, Associate Membership, and Affiliate Membership will be accepted until Wednesday, April 30. Nominations of a colleague will be accepted until Tuesday, April 15.

Call for Nominations – 2025 Mary Edwards Walker Inspiring Women in Surgery Award
The American College of Surgeons Women in Surgery Committee (WiSC) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the annual Dr. Mary Edwards Walker Inspiring Women in Surgery Award to be presented at the 2025 Clinical Congress. The award will be presented in recognition of an individual's significant contributions to the advancement of women in the field of surgery. Spectacular Cases – Call for Submissions
The Resident and Associate Society (RAS) is now accepting submissions for the 2025 Spectacular Cases session, which will be held at this year’s Clinical Congress in Chicago.
Each year, seven surgical trainees are selected to present a case with "spectacular significance", highlighting a multidisciplinary approach to patient management. Similar to an M&M discussion, cases are presented to a panel of experts, who engage the trainee in an interactive discussion.
Submissions are open to all Resident Members and Associate Fellows, with each member eligible to submit one case.
New This Year – ACS Chapter Submissions
For the first time, ACS Chapters are invited to submit a case from one of their members. At least one of this year’s seven spots will be reserved for a case submitted by an ACS Chapter, providing a unique opportunity to increase the likelihood of selection.Submit your spectacular case by Monday, May 5: Chapter Submission Form

Mentorship Program Applications Open
The American College of Surgeons (ACS) is seeking applications from women surgeons who would like to participate in the Women in Surgery Committee Mentorship Program. Applications are being accepted for mentors and mentees. Applicants to the program must be ACS Fellows, Associate Fellows, or currently in the process of applying for ACS Fellowship and meet other eligibility requirements. For more information on the program, participation and eligibility requirements, and to submit an application, visit the Women in Surgery Committee Mentorship Program. Applications are due by May 15, 2025.
