Program Alumni Returning as Faculty:
Since 2005, 23% of graduates returned and became teaching faculty.
The subspecialties of these returning graduates include vascular, colorectal, plastics, MIS and burns.
During Match 2024, the program matched its first all-female class. This also includes the program’s first Hmong resident. The Central Valley of California is known to have a large Hmong population. Patients served at our primary institution, Community Regional Medical Center, also sees a large number of Hmong patients. Having our first Hmong resident will be invaluable when providing patient care
Pre-Medical Surgical Internship Program (PSI)
The program has awarded 23 scholarships since the inception of the program in 2021-2022. The program will award another 9 scholarships during the 2024-2025 academic year for a total of 32 scholarships to undergraduates who have expressed an interest in pursuing a career in medicine.
